Siemens Gamesa closes five-year-old offshore wind order

After being chosen as preferred supplier in the spring of 2014, the wind OEM finally sees order become firm.

As is well known, all good things come to those who wait. This applies to Siemens Gamesa as well, as the wind turbine manufacturer has now received a firm order for 448 MW for offshore wind farm Neart Na Gaoithe off the coast of Scotland. The order encompasses delivery, installation and 15-year service of 54 SG 8.0-167 turbines, to be erected in 2022, the company informs in a stock exchange notice.
