Polish RE tender beats wholesale power price despite surge

A series of projects co-developed by Vestas are among the winners in Poland's last renewable energy tender, which, beyond 2.2 GW to onshore wind, also allocated capacity a range of smaller solar projects.

Renewable energy remains competitive in Poland. The average price for the 101 winning projects in the country's public tender for solar and wind power landed at PLN 208.49 (EUR 48.98) per MWh, which is slightly lower the domestic wholesale electricity price of PLN 220 per MWh – yet still higher than PLN 196.17 per MWh from last year's round.
