Danish Export Credit Agency poised to fund Brazilian wind power boom

A cooperation deal with a crucial development bank opens up for Danish financing for Brazil's wind market, slated to grow by 11 GW in the coming years. The first project tied to the agreement is expected to be settled in 2020.

That Brazil's National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is a powerful institution is a well-known fact. In 2012, when the bank scratched Vestas off its list of companies qualifying for machine and equipment financing – dubbed Finame – the wind turbine maker was immediately expunged from the market.
