Europe's wind build-out lags behind green goal, industry says

Despite the EU achieving its hitherto second-largest annual build-out of wind capacity, which can now cover 15 percent of the union's needs, a doubling of the current rate will be needed to live up to the European Green Deal, asserts WindEurope.

In 2019, Europe surpassed the 200 GW mark for installed wind capacity, and the current total now comes to 205 GW following the installation of 15.4 GW in new wind power during the year.
