Swedish wind sector's rosiest dream turns into nightmare

Finally, Sweden's authorities now announce that they're working to end the national RE subsidy scheme by the end of 2021. The domestic wind sector has long yearned for its discontinuation, but the proposal, however, is useless in its current formulation, says sector lobby.

The Swedish wind sector has long dreamt of seeing an end date on the country's dysfunctional certificate-based subsidy scheme for renewable energy. The system's collapse has risked ripping the carpet out from under many wind power investments in one of Europe's most vital wind markets.
