LM Wind Power closes US factory

Roughly 500 jobs will be scrapped later this year, as GE cites lacking demand and closes one of its two turbine blade factories in the US.

Straight off, one of the wind industry's present main challenges is securing sufficient hardware production. The combination of the busiest installation year to date and incremental factory closures caused by the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in quite a few gray hairs within the sector – not to mention the anxiety of production staff around the world caused both by the pandemic and associated rise in unemployment.
