Utility raises billions for Nordex acquisition

An equity emission worth EUR 2 billion brings RWE closer to realizing its ambition to have more than 13 GW of renewable energy in operation by 2022.

In many ways, RWE has changed both shape and size over the past year. Most recently, the German utility became bigger by one tenth – measured in terms of equity, at least. Through a share issuance on Tuesday, the company sold approximately 61.5 million new shares at EUR 32.55 apiece, bringing in just over EUR 2 billion, RWE announces.
