New Siemens Gamesa exec sees Denmark as role model

Although Siemens Gamesa's new head of the Danish division won't make predictions as to whether the country will have a production in ten years, he sees no reason it shouldn't. He also affirms that Denmark will be part of the company's next tech endeavor.

As a new employee just coming out of engineering school in Fredericia, Denmark, it was something of a baptism by fire for Torben Bang: to partake in installing Europe's largest wind farm. With 58 turbines of the flagship model Bonus 600 kW Mk III distributed across a plateau in the Cambrian Mountains in Wales, the Carno wind farm's capacity was unprecedented when installation commenced in late 1995.
