Prysmian hired to lay land connection for UK's Sofia

RWE Renewables has selected Prysmian as preferred bidder for a contract to lay the cable land connection for the world's most distant-to-land offshore wind farm, Sofia at 1.4 GW.

The Italian cable company is nominated as preferred bidder by RWE Renewables for the installation of a high-voltage, direct-current, subsea export cable for British offshore wind farm Sofia, Prysmian informs in a press statement, disclosing the contract's value at more than EUR 200 million.
