Ørsted awards contract for 1.1 GW to GE

The turbines at US offshore wind farm Ocean Wind will start at 12 MW – with an option to switch to a larger model.

The contract for Ocean Wind's offshore turbines is ready. Though it won't be firm and unconditional until the final investment decision from Ørsted, which awaits an establishment permit from US authorities, all else is in place, writes GE, which will deliver its Haliade-X model to New Jersey's first large-scale project.
