Siemens Gamesa negotiates big deal with blade maker

With the recent large order confirmation for the 5.X turbine marking more than a gigawatt sold to Brazil, the South American country becomes the platform's biggest market. Talks with a local manufacturer indicate, however, that the OEM expects to install up to three times as many machines ahead of 2024.

As EnergyWatch has previously reported, Siemens Gamesa will supply wind turbines to Engie's Santo Agostinho wind project in Brazil. The contract's ink had dried enough as of Friday for the deal to be rendered firm and unconditional.
