Vestas takes aim at Siemens Gamesa's crown

Of course the company wants to lead offshore wind, says Vestas CFO after incorporating offshore wind business and announcing a 15-MW turbine, which has already been presented to select customers.

As is by now a well-established fact, the main thing about a wind turbine isn't its capacity. Even though the 15 MW of Vestas' newly announced offshore model is, of course, an impressive rating and in line with the hitherto largest one of its kind. But as shown by the developments of recent years, the effect rating continually grows without any need for an entirely new turbine.
