Vattenfall drops new Danish onshore wind

The Swedish power company will not build any more new onshore wind farms in Denmark and now intends to divest its current development projects totaling several hundred megawatts. The utility insists that its move is not due to many years of domestic obstacles.

As of April 1, Vattenfall will close its Danish unit for onshore wind development. With 240 MW in operation, the Swedish utility is one of the largest onshore wind asset owners in the country, but the group now says it will not start any more new projects.
