EU approves sustained fixed price on German offshore wind

Although recognizing that new zero-subsidy bids may not necessarily emerge, the model for future German tenders very much draws upon the previous ones. And this in a way that makes most of the next tender's results seem given beforehand.

Germany has received the OK from the EU Commission for its new offshore wind subsidy model. The model passed last year and will facilitate the planned expansion from the current capacity of almost 8 GW to 20 GW by 2030 and to 40 GW by 2040 via, initially, a number of annual tenders up until 2025.
