GE wins onshore orders for 1.5 GW

Two years after a GW-sized project was scrapped, GE announces another of at least equal volume coming from the same customer and US federal state – just without the same degree of problems.

In 2018, General Electric Renewable Energy took in a major supply contract for as many as 800 wind turbines for the 2-GW Wind Catcher development in Oklahoma, however, the order ended up being canceled when the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) blocked the project, as a large portion of the facility's output was meant to enter the latter state through its northeastern corner.
