Vestas appoints former Ørsted chief to lead offshore wind

Johnny Thomsen steps down as the OEM's offshore wind lead and is being replaced by a recent Ørsted resignee, albeit from a part of the utility that has the least to do with wind at sea.

Two renewable power sector heavyweights have been implementing significant strategic steamlining operations during this last half year. In October, Vestas fully reacquired offshore wind back into the group fold with the purchase of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' half stake in joint venture MHI Vestas.
