Swedish PV developer doubles domestic portfolio

Swedish PV developer Helios adds ten new projects in southern Sweden and thereby enters the gigawatt class, targeting another doubling of its portfolio over the next year and a half.

The solar energy build-out has reached Sweden in earnest over the past years. Although from a small basis, capacity has increased around tenfold in the last five years to 1.1GW at the end of 2020. An expansion that, for obvious reasons, has mostly taken place in the southern parts of the country, in particular Scania and around Gotland, where conditions are optimal.
