Macquarie enters Norwegian offshore wind

Green Investment Group enters into a partnership with Agder Energi and Vårgrønn on the fixed-bottom part of Norway's tender. One of the world's most promising countries, says GIG.

Another major player has marked its entry into Norwegian offshore wind. Late to the party arrives Macquarie subsidiary Green Investment Group (GIG), forming a partnership with Vårgrønn and Agder Energi in bidding on a site in the region Sørlige Nordsjø II. Vårgrønn – founded by Italian oil firm Eni and Norway's Hitecvision – and Agder Energi will each own 37.5 percent of the project going forward, while GIG buys a 25-percent stake.
