Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has won a 396MW order from Australia.

In partnership with domestic developer and independent power producer Tilt Renewables, Vestas has secured the contract to supply hardware to the Rye Park Wind Farm in New South Wales.

Vestas will deliver and install 66 model V162-6.2MW wind turbines of the EnVentus platform at the project.

A 30-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement is also part of the package.

Beyond generating power for roughly 215,000 households annually, Rye Park Wind Farm will reportedly create around 250 jobs during construction phase and up to 10 ongoing positions regionally after commissioning.

"As the largest provider of sustainable energy solutions, both globally and nationally, Vestas is particularly pleased that long standing customers like Tilt Renewables, and now PowAR, continue to choose our leading technology, technical and construction capability, and integrated power and service solutions. We look forward to continuing to champion their ambitious vision of sustainability in Australia," writes Purvin Patel, president of Vestas Asia Pacific, in a press statement.

The turbines are set for delivery in the third quarter of 2022, with planed commissioning in Q2 of the following year.
