Vattenfall eyes extending interconnections for potential Baltic offshore farm

The Swedish utility plans to connect up to 2GW in offshore wind capacity to neighboring Denmark's energy island prototype come 2028. A solution type that will increase in use, says CEO.

Monday saw offshore wind farm Kriegers Flak inaugurated with great fanfare. The facility is the largest of its kind in Denmark, and even in Scandinavia, though the Nordic build-out has so far been quite limited, with 13-year-old Swedish farm Lillgrund of 110MW as the closest competitor.
