Ørsted and joint venture partner Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE), co-developers of Polish offshore wind farms Baltica 2 and 3, open a solicitation round to find an OEM to supply the projects with turbines, reports sector media Wind Power Monthly.

The two parties formed a 50/50 joint venture earlier this year to develop the two facilities, which will attain a combined capacity of 2.5GW.

According to the media, Ørsted's project lead in Poland, Søren Westergaard Jensen, says the farms will consist of roughly 200 wind turbines.

Both projects have already secured environmental permits as well as signed agreements for grid connection.

Baltica 3 is set to commission in 2026, with Baltica 2 planned to enter operation the year after.
