Vestas has won a supply deal for 207MW from the US, the wind turbine manufacturer informs in a statement Tuesday.

The order is placed by Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions, which says it will use these machines to power its Ledyard Windpower project in Iowa.

The contract entails delivery and installation of 46 model V150-4.5MW units, as one of two new variants in Vestas' 4MW-class product range. The other model is called V136-4.5MW.

Vestas says these two turbine models are able to generate 3 percent more electricity annually compared to existing versions V136-4.2MW and V150-4.2MW.

A ten-year service arrangement is also included in the contract.

Ledyard Windpower's turbines are set for delivery in the second quarter of 2022, with commissioning planned for Q4 of the same year.

Vestas stock has depreciated by 1.9 percent Tuesday and trades for DKK 256.8 (EUR 34.43).
