Statkraft wins permit for 400MW hybrid farm

Chilean public authorities have alloted land and issued a permit for the Norwegian utility's first greenfield project in the South American country consisting of both wind turbines and battery-based power storage.

In recent years, Chile has become a focus area for Statkraft. What began with the power utility's classic technology and the purchase of hydroelectric plant Rucatayo in 2015 as a part of acquiring domestic power company Pilmaiquen, the Norwegian group's Chilean assets have since been extended with three wind farms and the planned solar project Pauna of 600MWp.
