Inpex Renewable, the newly launched, UK-based green energy subsidiary of the Japanese oil outfit, has signed an agreement to buy interest in two offshore wind farms in Dutch waters.

The deal is signed with Mitsubishi's subsidiary in the Netherlands, Diamond Generating Europe. Before the deal can reach full close, domestic public authorities, among others, will have to give their stamp of approval.

15 percent of Borssele 3+4 will be transferred to Inpex Renewable. The 731.5MW facility offshore of Westkapelle commissioned this year.

Half of Luchterduinen of 129MW, online since 2015, will be be owned by Inpex' UK subsidiary.

According to Inpex Renewable, the company is working to expand its operations within renewable energy projects – especially by using its experience from oil and gas extraction to manifest offshore wind and geothermal projects.
