Utility takes FID on Danish nearshore wind farms

Installation of the next 344MW in Danish waters can now get started after a protracted delay.

More than five years after Vattenfall won its tender bid for Danish nearshore wind farms Vesterhav Syd and Nord, the power company has after a long delay taken its final investment decision. The drawn-out decision can, naturally, not be attributed to sluggishness at the Swedish company, which saw its establishment license for the facilities repealed three years back by a Danish energy appeals board. Now, however, all permits are in place, thus allowing the utility to finalize its investment of EUR 769m.
