Siemens Gamesa is nominated to supply Dominion Energy's 2.6GW offshore wind project, Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind, with the OEM's largest incoming model of 14MW.

Commissioning is scheduled for late 2026, the turbine maker informs in a press statement.

A total of 176 model SG 14-222 DD units are set to be installed at the project, and Siemens Gamesa also says the contract includes a ten-year service agreement.

"The agreement is subject to customary conditions, including required governmental permitting. All items are anticipated to be successfully closed by Q1 2023. Installation of the mammoth project in waters off the coast of the Commonwealth of Virginia is expected to begin in 2024," the OEM writes.

In November this year, Siemens Gamesa installed a prototype of the 14MW model at Denmark's Østerild test center.
