Polish auction shows wind power still suppressed

Whilst 361 solar projects were allocated in this year's last Polish renewables tender, only 10 wind farms made it through. Although new rules could rectify one of the wind industry's long-standing problems.

Measured nominally, Poland's latest tender was a true parade of solar power. Of the 375 projects awarded contracts by domestic regulator PSA, 361 were solar projects, while only 10 were of wind – only marginally more than the four small hydroelectric plants that also made it through the needle's eye.
