Statkraft has singed a ten-year power purchase agreement for offtake from Matrix Renewables' 50MW solar farm in Jaen, Spain.

"After signing four corporate PPAs in 2021, we are excited to expanding and diversifying our PPA partnerships by signing our first PPA with an energy company in Spain," writes Matrix Renewables' managing director for development and markets, Chris Matthews:

"Statkraft's experience and proactivity allowed Matrix to optimize revenues in a very volatile market and we look forward to increasing our cooperation with Statkraft in future projects."

The contract is set to enter force in the second half of 2022 when the facility is fully operational.

In recent years, Statkraft has put far greater emphasis on the PPA market. In connection with the group's second quarter interim report of 2020, the utility wrote of wanting to ensure itself a prominent spot in the segment.
