A wind turbine has fallen down at European Energy's wind farm Anyksciai in Lithuania. The 5.5GW machine, made by General Electric Renewable Energy, collapsed just under a week ago on March 11, and now the Danish developer and independent power producer has initiated an investigation of the incident, reports Renews.

"We have temporarily suspended the operation of all turbines in the Anyksciai wind farm to investigate the issue at hand in collaboration with the relevant authorities and our turbine supplier," European Energy writes in a statement.

Anyksciai is located 80 kilometers north of Vilnius and is equipped with nine model GE 5.5-153MW units.

Installation took place in the second half of 2021, and the farm is now projected to reach full operation during this quarter.

GE has also confirmed the incident, informing that the group is also in the process of investigating the cause.
