Total Eren is entering into a collaboration with developer Chariot Transitional Power and mining and metal company First Quantum Minerals to develop 430MW of solar and wind energy in Zambia.

The project is to supply renewable energy to First Quantum Minerals’ Zambian mining operations in a push to cut CO2 emissions by 30 percent in 2025.

“Together with our partner Chariot, we are pleased to bring our global expertise in solar and wind generation to power FQM’s operations. The combined solar and wind capacity will offer strong complementarity and power generation around the clock, with solar produced during the day and wind mainly at night,” says Executive Vise President and Global Head of Business Development at Total Eren Fabiene Demo.
