Developing 1GW, if not 2GW, of offshore wind is the goal for Copenhagen Infrastructure in the South Taranaki Bight alongside local partner NZ Super Fund.

According to the parties, it will mark CIP’s first project in Aotearoa, which is the Maori name for New Zealand. The partners are still in the early stages of developing the project.

”The New Zealand Government’s renewable energy ambitions will require strong partnerships to deliver large-scale clean energy projects over the coming decade. We can think of no better partner than the NZ Super Fund to help bring our expertise to New Zealand.,” says CIP Partner Michael Hannibal.

The investment is part of a broad development portfolio under CIP’s upcoming green infrastructure fund CI V.
