Statnett: Hybrid cables could ensure more Norwegian offshore wind in North Sea

The balance between additional electricity production and increased electricity consumption determines to what extent and at what speed Norway can expand wind at sea, says Norwegian TSO Statnett.

The Norwegian offshore wind efforts are lined up and ready to go, but there is still work to be done in terms of accelerating the process. At present, two areas have been opened up for more wind farms, and NVE has started investigating which other areas can open up after Utsira Nord and Sørlige Nordsjø II.
