Ørsted inks PPA with US bank

The Danish utility has agreed to sell power from an upcoming wind farm in the US.

In April, Ørsted announced having made a final investment decision on the 201MW US wind project Sunflower in the state of Kansas.

Now the utility has signed a power purchase agreement with US-based Citizens Bank concerning offtake of power generated by the Sunflower wind farm.

Ørsted forced to delay coal phase out

The Danish authorities have ordered Ørsted to continue operations of one coal fired power plant and resume operations on two others until 2024. The utilty maintains aim of CO2-neutrality in 2025.
