Wärtsilä wins yet UK battery order

EDF Renewables continues efforts expanding grid-storage batteries in the UK, with the Finnish technology supplier again hired to deliver hardware for a 50MW/100MWh facility.

EDF Renewables is working to deploy a series of so-called Energy Superhubs in the UK. To that end, the French utility’s renewables business now means to add further power storage capacity in Britain, this time a Wärtsilä-made 50MW/100MWh system in Sundon, Bedfordshire, the Finnish company writes in a press statement.
