Vestas has received an order for a 236MW project in northeastern Finland, the company reports Thursday.

The wind OEM has struck a deal with long-time customer Suomen Hyötytuuli for a total of 38 wind turbines to be set up as part of the Siikajoki project.

Entailing 38 model 162-6.2MW units, the order also includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the machines, which will also benefit from Vestas’ Anti-Icing System – a feature that effectively combats ice formation on rotor blades with the aim of maximizing energy production.

Delivery and installation of the turbines is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2024, and commissioning is slated for the third and fourth quarter of 2024.
