Brazil receives project applications for 170GW of offshore wind

More than 70 projects are ready to be reviewed by the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources. Ocean Winds, Equinor and TotalEnergies have placed bids.

Four additional applications for environmental investigation licenses bring the total number of applications for offshore wind projects in Brazil to 71. In total, the projects involve 176.6GW in proposed capacity, according to wind industry media OffshoreWind.
