Scotland wants 20GW of onshore wind by 2030

The Scottish government has decided to aim for 20GW of established onshore wind by 2030. Current capacity lies at 8.7GW.

Scottish carbon emissions have to be reduced, prompting the country’s government to markedly increase ambitions for onshore wind expansion. An aim of 20GW by 2030 has been set, meaning the current capacity of 8.7GW will be more than doubled.
