Single bidder prefers subsidy and PPAs above CfD as scheme for Norwegiann offshore wind

Most consortia seeking offshore wind developments in Norway would rather do business on contracts for difference – in fact, all except that of Å Energi and Corio Generation – the sole partnership preferring subsidized investment and power purchase agreements.

The state support model most widely supported by parties vying to develop offshore wind in Norwegian waters is that of contracts for difference (CfD), a setup well known from the UK market, show public consultation replies to the national government’s proposed allocation, subsidization and auctioning scheme for designated offshore wind areas Sørlige Nordsjø II and Utsira Nord. The deadline for submission was Friday last week.
