Ørsted aims to set up 18GW offshore wind in Sweden

The Danish utility has filed submissions for four new projects in Sweden, including twin projects of 9.5GW. Ørsted argues that wind power has the edge on nuclear in terms of price and speed.

For quite a long time, Ørsted has been eagerly waiting for Sweden’s offshore wind push to get underway. Now the Danish utility raises the ambition after filing applications to set up four additional large-scale projects. Along with two projects already under development, this would increase the company’s Swedish project portfolio to 18GW, states Ørsted in a press release.
