For the first time ever, German wind turbine maker became the biggest supplier in the group’s domestic market.

Nordex took a 32% share of the market, relegating rivals Vestas and Enercon to second and third place with market shares of 29.6% and 25%, respectively.

This is evident from figures released by German wind energy agency Fachagentur Windenergie, reports Recharge News.

According to the figures, the German onshore wind market grew by nearly 25% last year to 2.405GW in newly installed capacity.

”Nordex installed and commissioned 173 turbines in its home market of Germany, a combined capacity of 769MW for its customers (2021: 285MW). Compared to 2021 this equates to an increase of about 170%. This means that the Nordex Group has increased its double-digit market share in Germany from 14.8% to 32%,” writes Nordex in a statement on the ranking.

The newly installed Nordex turbines will have an average capacity of 4.45MW.
