Equinor’s takeover of Danish solar developer and power producer BeGreen has now concluded, leaving the latter’s staff team and administration intact, both companies inform in statements.

BegGreen develops photovoltaic projects in its domestic market as well as those of Sweden and Poland. Further plans entail exploring expansion into other relevant markets, especially in North America.

Andreas Dolmer, managing partner at BeGreen, says the new ownership will strengthen business opportunities.

“Having a parent company such as Equinor with strong financial prowess and an extensive knowledge of a broad variety of energy markets will allow BeGreen to develop our projects at an accelerated pace,” he notes:

”We are very excited to join the Equinor ranks and to expand our role as a leading solar developer in Europe, operating as a key player in furthering the European energy transition as well as energy security.”

The deal was first announced back in November.
