Together with consultancy Carbon Trust, 11 leading developers will jointly draw up a common methodology for calculating life-cycle CO2 footprint of their offshore wind farms.

Carbon emissions ensue from the energy generation, but a new common standard will help ensure the lowest possible CO2 footprint resulting from the offshore wind build-out, reports Danish utility Ørsted after joining forces with consultancy Carbon Trust and ten other developers to develop such a methodology.
