The British government once again delays passing a verdict on Ørsted’s application for offshore wind farm Hornsea 4, writes Recharge News.

A final verdict has been pushed back five months while authorities have requested further information from Ørsted and other ”interested parties”.

Newly formed Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is charged with final decision-making, and the department have pledged that a verdict will pass on July 12, 2023 at the latest.

The 2.6GW North Sea array has faced numerous delays on fears of likely impacts on native seabird populations.

Recharge News has reached out to Ørsted for a comment.
