Cable producer NKT is close to finalizing a contract regarding a high-voltage export power cable system for a Polish offshore wind project.

The deal is expected to be worth more than EUR 120m – or EUR 110m in standard metal prices – when getting the final stamp, NKT writes in a press release on Tuesday.

”The order is subject to formal contract signature that is expected at end of June 2023 alongside a subsequent final notice to proceed,” the company informs.

The order covers design, production, and delivery of 130 kilometers of 230 kV AC high-voltage cables for Polish OSW project Baltic Power Offshore Wind Park with capacity of up to 1.2GW.

Cable production will take place at NKT’s factory in Cologne, Germany. The offshore wind farm is set for operation in 2026.

The contract does not alter NKT’s financial guidance for 2023.
