Türkiye identifies three separate zones for offshore wind developments, breaking ground on what is to become the country’s first ever offshore wind auction.

Up until now, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR) has launched a tender for delivery on site explorations and consultancy services for the three appointed development zones, all located in the Sea of Marmara, writes Offshorewind.biz.

The work includes metocean and wind resource measurements, a feasibility analysis and preparing preliminary framework for future auction design.

”Thereafter the work will necessarily focus on the zone or zones with the highest demonstrable potential to lead to the allocation of sea-bed rights, following a successful auction,” says the provisional tender document, according to Offshorewind.biz.
