As is tradition, Vestas announces a lot of orders on the last day of the quarter. And the second quarter of 2023 is certainly no exception. The Danish wind turbine manufacturer has announced three orders so far.

The first order for 45MW comes from EDF Renewables, which will install 10 V136-4.5 MW turbines in the Karamoutzi and Karfoula wind farms in Viotia, Greece. The agreement also includes an AOM 4000 service agreement, and delivery is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2024.

Vestas has delivered 2.3GW to Greece out of the country’s total 4.7GW.

The second order for 74MW comes from Italian SIMIC.

Vestas will supply a total of 12 V162.6.2 MW turbines for the Villacidro and Musei wind farms in Sardinia. Included in the agreement is a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

The turbines are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2024 and are expected to become operational in the second half of the same year.

The final order, which has been placed by an undisclosed customer, concerns 151MW in Spain.

The order consists of 26 V136-4.5 MW turbines, three V163-4.5 MW turbines and five V136-4.5 MW turbines. In addition to the turbines, the contract includes a 15-year service agreement.

Delivery of the turbines is expected to start in the second half of 2024, while commissioning is scheduled for the last quarter of 2024 and the first half of 2025.
