A Vestas turbine caught fire on Tuesday in the Arbor Hill wind farm in the US state of Iowa.

The fire broke out in a 2 megawatt V110 turbine, according to Recharge News.

The wind farm is owned by Mid American Energy and has a total capacity of 310 megawatts.

Mid American and Vestas will jointly investigate the cause of the incident.

”Once it has been determined that it is safe to access the turbine, Vestas will work with the customer to determine the cause,” a spokesperson told Recharge News.

There have been no reported injuries in the incident.

This is the second time in a year that a Vestas turbine has caught fire at a Mid American park. Last year in October, it was at the Diamond Trail park in the state of Iowa.

Again, it was a V110 turbine that caught fire. At the time, it had been in operation since 2020.
