EDPR increases portfolio by 1.7 GW

Energy company EDP Renewables (EDPR) has added 1.7 gigawatts of new capacity in the last 12 months, bringing its total installed portfolio to 15.1 gigawatts.

This is evident by the company’s financial statements for the first nine months of 2023.

In Europe and in the US, a respective 0.7 and 0.6 gigawatts have been installed in the past 12 months.

Of the installed capacity, the North America region accounts for 49%, Europe for 38%, South America for 7%, and the Asia-Pacific region for 6%.

Operating profit decreased 3.7% to EUR 1.43bn (USD 1.52bn) while the bottom line increased 7% compared to the same period last year to EUR 445m.

Revenue fell 5% compared to the same period last year, driven by falling electricity prices, according to Bloomberg News.

The share price rose 1.1% to EUR 3.9 on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
