Despite the current situation, which makes NKT happy not to have built a factory in the US, Claes Westerlind does not see the market situation spiraling out of control.
Wednesday didn’t fit in very well with the currently dominant doomsday narrative about the green transition. Vestas presented a much better quarterly result than expected, while NKT delivered the highest operating profit in the company’s history. Just as the cable manufacturer’s operating margin of 8.1% almost smells of the good old days.
