Vattenfall rejects Chinese turbines

Although the industry must continue to become more competitive, Vattenfall will never compromise its sustainability criteria, says the CEO, who prefers its current suppliers.

When Vattenfall inaugurated its latest offshore wind farm, Hollandse Kust Zuid, two months ago, all the classic elements were present: A lot of men in blue suits, a royal guest invited to press the ceremonial start button and, of course, offshore wind turbines from a Western manufacturer. For the sixth time from Siemens Gamesa, while the Swedes have chosen Vestas for their six other offshore wind farms.
